Formerly a corporate attorney building and financing major pipelines, storage terminals, and power plants, and negotiating derivatives documentation, Alice now takes history classes through Northwestern University and Florence Melton, exercises with tai chi, play mah jongg, and indulges in an addictive travel habit. She has visited and photographed places on all seven continents (yes, including Antarctica).

Alice also avidly follows the Chicago sports teams and thoroughbred horse racing. In August 2021, she and her husband renewed their vows for their 51st wedding anniversary.
