Life Skills | Medical Debt: What & When to do it; Handling Debt Collectors w/ Vivienne D.

This class focuses on steps before Cancer treatment to avoid or reduce possible out-of-pocket medical costs. It will discuss Patient rights facing substantial hospital bills & provide tips on negotiating financial solutions w/hospitals/medical providers. For patients whose debts are sent to collections, learn about your legal rights and potential protections.

Vivienne Duncan, Esq. is the Director of the Cancer Advocacy (CAP) and Elderlaw Projects at the City Bar Justice Center. CAP provides cancer patients and survivors with pro bono (no-cost) legal information and assistance. Ms. Duncan has extensive experience in life planning issues and works with volunteer attorneys to assist clients with life planning documents, health insurance appeals, and advice on cancer-related employment discrimination. Ms. Duncan can practice law in the US & England. She graduated from the University of Sussex (LLB/JD), & University College London (LLM), in the U.K.
